ISC 2010 WINNERS ANNOUNCED
May 11, 2011

ISC Grand Prize Is Awarded To Australian Artist Kasey Chambers For The Song "Beautiful Mess" Congratulations to all 2010 winners! Click here to view the complete list.

Kasey says, "I honestly can't believe it. When I entered the International Songwriting Competition, I didn't think I even had a chance being up against songwriters from all over the world...I thought it would be fun to enter anyway. I've heard about the competition for a while, but it's the first time I've ever entered. What a buzz knowing that the judges were artists/songwriters such as Tom Waits, Ben Harper, Peter Gabriel, and Rihanna. Winning with the song "Beautiful Mess" makes it even more special as it's a song I wrote for my two boys, Talon and Arlo. Guess I'd better buy them an ice cream."

Winning ISC Can Boost Your Career
December 4, 2010

Winning ISC can be a tremendous career booster. In the past five years, three of the Grand Prize winners have been signed to major label deals (Universal and Epic). Many more winners have secured publishing deals, smaller label deals, licensing deals, and distribution deals in addition to getting more gigs, fans, and recognition. Monte Lipman, President of Universal Records, talks about his role as an ISC judge: "We're always been impressed with the talented songwriters who participate in the ISC. This is a great A&R source to find new artists."

ISC Adds Unsigned Only Category
August 2, 2010

To better level the playing field for unsigned artists, ISC has added the "Unsigned Only" category which is open to songwriters and artists not signed to a major label record deal, publishing company, or distribution deal. This category provides an excellent opportunity for unknown artists to compete against others on a similar level.

Entrants in this category cannot be signed to or have any affiliation with a major label record company (Sony BMG, EMI Group, Universal Music Group, or Warner Music Group or any of its affiliates, subsidiaries or imprints) or have distribution through a major label or its affiliates. Entrants who are on independent labels, their own label, or no label are eligible to enter. Entrants may not enter any song into this category that is owned, wholly or partly, by any publishing company. These eligibility requirements apply only to the Unsigned Only category. The category will have one winner. Entries in this category will be eligible for the Grand Prize. Any song entered into the Unsigned Only category must also be entered into at least one other category.

ISC Monthly "Crank Your Cred" Contest on MySpace

Every month, ISC will pick one winner out of all entrants entering through MySpace. The winner will be prominently displayed on ISC's website and in an ISC e-newsletter which goes out to almost half-a-million musicians and industry professionals! Then, at the end of ISC, the winner from each month will go head-to-head in an online public vote, and the winner will win lots of cool prizes and mega promotion! The earlier you enter and the more songs you enter each month, the better your chances are of being picked, so enter your songs now. It's very easy to enter; if you have a MySpace page with your songs on it - simply email us a link to your songs (along with the entry form info), and we'll listen to them on your MySpace page!
